FreeNAS is an open source FreeBSD-based operating system that is meant to work as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) server. The system supports several file sharing protocols, such as AFP, CIFS, and NFS.
Issues experienced
FreeNAS is, like any other operating system, not without its frustrating flaws.
Active Directory domain join: Service failed to restart
Diagnostics:
- Check domain DNS server and that clients are able to resolve the appropriate names to join.
- Check for existing Kerberos realms and that they actually exist.
A major network overhaul can result in many problems throughout the network, leaving FreeNAS without a clue of what to do.
